When I was first told about KBW, I was filled with excitement and thought to myself, “finally!”

KBW is an amazing platform not only for my business and personal branding, but building relationships with like-minded women who strive to be better and support one another. I have enjoyed connecting, networking, and building new friendships with incredible women in our community. I know this is only the beginning and I can’t wait to see how this organization will grow and how we will all grow within our careers and businesses.

Women came from all over the Houston area to be with us! It's going to be hard to top this one. Believe it or not, the KBW board and KBW event committee are already planning for next year's event! 👩‍👩‍👧‍👧IT'S WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH! We just can't wait to be kicking off this historical month with 'the women's empowerment event' of the year, KBW Business & Brunch, happening this weekend! To think there was a time that women weren't legally able to receive acknowledgment for their many great accomplishments, own property, vote, become educated, and a long string of other laws that prohibited women from being deemed equal to their male counterparts. ⁠ ⁠ 👩🏽 The generations of women that came before us, who have worked tirelessly, and who gave their lives to bring our feminine species to where we are today. We're proud of all that they endured, their genius gifts, and their relentless courage to make the world a better place for their daughters. Happy Women's History Month, ladies! ⁠ ⁠ 💁🏻‍♀️ Did you know? That the city of Houston was actually financed by a woman! The wife of real estate promoter Augustus Chapman Allen, Charlotte Allen actually gave Augustus and his little brother John Kirby Allen the funds of $5,000 for 6,600 acres alongside the Buffalo Bayou to establish a new city. It was Charlotte's idea to name the city after the hero of the time, General Sam Houston. FACT! Tell me I'm not the only one. My love for making lists of tasks, projects, and reminders is a blessing and a curse. I love that I can cross things off as I complete them and have a sense of major accomplishments at the end of the day. While, other times, the things that didn't make it on my list or didn't get accomplished the previous day build up in my mind. I have heard, the creative mind is one that never sleeps or dreams in vivid color - either way, neither sounds good to me. After a few, what seemed like sleepless nights here and there, I decided to try a few things other creative entrepreneurs swear by to remedy this. Here are My 6 Ways Busy Minds Get Better Sleep:⁠ ⁠ 1. Begin a bedtime ritual. (This one is my favorite) A bedtime ritual can be a compilation of things that make you feel a sense of calm/settled for the evening. You can practice self-care, pamper yourself with a beauty regimen, light a candle, put your favorite pajamas on, listen to calming music or put white/brown noise on, meditate or do breathing exercises, read or journal, and/or pray.⁠ ⁠ 2. Keep an open notepad or journal next to your bed in case you wake up in the night with a genius idea or a reminder. Making note of it right then and there means you can let go of it and get back to sleep.⁠ ⁠ 3. Remove yourself from all electronics and notifications after work.⁠ ⁠ 4. Harness a mantra that helps you find your center again.⁠ ⁠ 5. Avoid alcohol before bedtime and supplement with natural remedies like pressure points, melatonin, or physical exercise.⁠ ⁠ 6.
