I grew up in the Spring-Klein area after moving here when I was 4 years old. I have 4 amazing children 2 boys and 2 girls. And I've been married to my hubby for 20 years! I love my coffee, my wine, and Jesus. I say what I mean and I mean what I say. I love to have fun but also enjoy pulling up my sleeves and getting work done.
I went to school for business and after working several years in the telecommunication industry decided to go back to school for graphic design. I worked for 11 1/2 years with Pappas Restaurants doing graphic design for them. I was also teaching at the college. I have always loved photography and while teaching Photoshop for so many years, it was a natural transition.
What recent success have you had? Being recognized by my peers as someone who lifts as I climb. I am part of a mastermind-type community of photographers and we all support each other, cheer each other and it's so amazing to be a leader in that community. The vibe is so positive and I love helping others thrive in it.

'Stop trying to do it all' I have to tell myself. The universe has been trying to tell me something. This past month I noticed a reoccurring theme in every podcast, lecture I've attended of local industry leaders, and conversations I have with corporate industry peers. I have to say that delegating "$10 duties" and assigning myself to only the "million dollars income producing projects" of running a business has always been my biggest personal challenge. So why is it so hard to let go?
Perfectionism. A blessing and a curse - it can be counter-productive to your business. Time is your most precious commodity and should be spent on income-producing activities. Stop working within your business, but RUN IT. Making the transition from freelance entrepreneur to CEO mindset can be as simple as making a list of things you love doing for your business and the things you hate doing in your business. Give it away NOW!
Finding it difficult to trust someone to keep up with your quality of work output? Yep, been there too. Take the leap of faith. I had to trust that if someone can do a task or project as 80% as well as you can then I need to LET IT GO. I can coach them for the rest of the 20 percent. Now you have a thriving business and time to do the things that bring you joy.

A year and a half ago I moved to the Kingwood area and I barely knew a soul. I craved making new girlfriends with creative instincts and a mindset for business. So I took to social media, Knowing that itâs is the place to search for local networking events. I searched for groups and really struggled to find an inclusive community of women. Kingwood Business Women instagram was born! Seemingly overnight the following of Kingwood Business Womenâs social media following and email list grew from 0 to over a thousand. That spoke to meâŠthat there were actually women in our area that were searching too!
