Our hearts are soaring! Thank you all that attended KBW Business & Brunch over the weekend. It was an incredible experience and we love all the photos you're sharing! Women came from all over the Houston area to be with us! It's going to be hard to top this one. Believe it or not, the KBW board and KBW event committee are already planning for next year's event! 🌠 A message from KBW Founder: In November of 2022, I had the opportunity to tour H-Town Dream Center @htowndreamcenter and meet some of the incredible women and children whose lives were changed by the efforts of local leaders and H-Town Dream Center's Tiny Home & Village Project. After seeing the amazing and uplifting effect the program was making, KBW would certainly be in its corner to assist women in reaching their dreams. H-Town Dream Center provides safe housing for women and their children who seek shelter from homelessness and/or fleeing life-threatening situations. These women are survivors. The Greater Houston Area is home to a staggering number of women and children experiencing human trafficking, domestic violence, and crisis pregnancy. Their vulnerabilities are exploited by force, fraud, and coercion, leaving them captive with nowhere to turn.

Through their program, HTDC provides safe housing for up to 50 women and children year-round, where they can discover God's purpose for their lives and begin to dream again.

Every woman cared for at H-town Dream Center is asked to commit to a nine-month, faith-based discipleship program where they learn the Bible and receive the love, hope, and grace God has for them. All amenities such as room and board, food, transportation needs, and more are provided at no cost to the residents. HTDC's nurturing House of Hope volunteers are thoroughly trained to teach women, mothers, and their children life skills such as parenting, time management, coping skills, nutrition, financial coaching, and more.

Tell me I'm not the only one. My love for making lists of tasks, projects, and reminders is a blessing and a curse. I love that I can cross things off as I complete them and have a sense of major accomplishments at the end of the day. While, other times, the things that didn't make it on my list or didn't get accomplished the previous day build up in my mind. I have heard, the creative mind is one that never sleeps or dreams in vivid color - either way, neither sounds good to me. After a few, what seemed like sleepless nights here and there, I decided to try a few things other creative entrepreneurs swear by to remedy this. Here are My 6 Ways Busy Minds Get Better Sleep:
1. Begin a bedtime ritual. (This one is my favorite) A bedtime ritual can be a compilation of things that make you feel a sense of calm/settled for the evening. You can practice self-care, pamper yourself with a beauty regimen, light a candle, put your favorite pajamas on, listen to calming music or put white/brown noise on, meditate or do breathing exercises, read or journal, and/or pray.
2. Keep an open notepad or journal next to your bed in case you wake up in the night with a genius idea or a reminder. Making note of it right then and there means you can let go of it and get back to sleep.
3. Remove yourself from all electronics and notifications after work.
4. Harness a mantra that helps you find your center again.
5. Avoid alcohol before bedtime and supplement with natural remedies like pressure points, melatonin, or physical exercise.
6. Outsource, outsource, outsource. Having someone else who works on your projects not only brings you peace but can also be the stepping stone to your next level in business.
