April KBW Meetup | Intro to Golf

Ladies! We’re mixing it up for our April KBW monthly meet-up and hitting the driving range at The Icehouse (Kingwood Golf Advantage School). This is the perfect opportunity to see if this is the sport for you, and practice your swing with instruction from a golf pro. Co-hosted by KBW Members Jen Pisani and Christa Elyce.

Bring your own clubs if you have them. No worries if you don’t, you can borrow a club from one of our experienced/seasoned members. There are only 15 spots for this event. Spots are first come, first serve basis.

Light bites will be provided (yummy bar food). Cash bar. Bring water for hydration.

Attire: Activewear

1 hour group instructional at range at The Icehouse – Open Networking to follow in the 2nd hour.

'Stop trying to do it all' I have to tell myself. The universe has been trying to tell me something. This past month I noticed a reoccurring theme in every podcast, lecture I've attended of local industry leaders, and conversations I have with corporate industry peers. I have to say that delegating "$10 duties" and assigning myself to only the "million dollars income producing projects" of running a business has always been my biggest personal challenge. So why is it so hard to let go? Perfectionism. A blessing and a curse - it can be counter-productive to your business. Time is your most precious commodity and should be spent on income-producing activities. Stop working within your business, but RUN IT. Making the transition from freelance entrepreneur to CEO mindset can be as simple as making a list of things you love doing for your business and the things you hate doing in your business. Give it away NOW! Finding it difficult to trust someone to keep up with your quality of work output? Yep, been there too. Take the leap of faith. I had to trust that if someone can do a task or project as 80% as well as you can then I need to LET IT GO. I can coach them for the rest of the 20 percent. A year and a half ago I moved to the Kingwood area and I barely knew a soul. I craved making new girlfriends with creative instincts and a mindset for business. So I took to social media, Knowing that it’s is the place to search for local networking events. I searched for groups and really struggled to find an inclusive community of women. Kingwood Business Women instagram was born! Seemingly overnight the following of Kingwood Business Women’s social media following and email list grew from 0 to over a thousand. That spoke to me
that there were actually women in our area that were searching too! I am Christa Elyce, the founder of the Kingwood Business Women Association. Our community is built on the pillars of modern networking and events, business education and content creation, and building a sisterhood that is uplifting to all women - no matter your level of business, dreams, or goals. We hosted our first event in March 2021. Our first KBW Business & Brunch was completely sold out! With over 150 women in attendance, we hosted a vendor market, and a panel discussion with Houston’s top leading female industry leaders, and have been recognized as Lake Houston’s most influential association. Joining the KBW membership gave our members access to exclusive discounts to Masterclasses, workshops, free admission to our ‘elevator pitch’ networking events, and opportunities to be featured on our expansive platform and their desired target audience. I love hearing stories of our members of how their entrepreneurial lifestyle has become less of a lonely journey. It’s a community where we learn, share, and create together! I am Christa Elyce, the founder of the Kingwood Business Women Association. Our community is built on the pillars of modern networking and events, business education and content creation, and building a sisterhood that is uplifting to all women - no matter your level of business, dreams, or goals.

I stopped to think of the root of really WHY we as women work so hard. It’s for the things we want for our lives and that of our family. Not the frivolous things (though my Pinterest board is never-ending), but it’s for the life desired. More time with the family, sharing experiences we’ll never forget, the freedom to go at our own pace, and the ability to take better care of our family well into the next generations.
